21/07/2025
With the approval of the University’s Board of Management and within the framework of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program at Thuongmai University, from July 18 to July 20, 2025, a delegation of faculty members and graduate students from the first EMBA cohort conducted a field study, site visit, and practical learning program at Tan Vu Port, Lach Huyen Port, and Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company in Hai Phong City.

The delegation from Thuongmai University was led by Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Ha – Director of the Institute of Business Administration, accompanied by Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung – Deputy Director of the Graduate Training Institute, several faculty members, and 21 EMBA students from the first cohort.

Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Ha – Director of the Institute of Business Administration – delivered a speech and presented a gift to the leadership of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC).

Representing the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) were Dr. Le Quang Trung – Deputy General Director of VIMC and Vice President of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), along with the leadership of Tan Vu Port and Lach Huyen Port, and staff members who warmly welcomed the delegation and guided them during the site visit.

At Tan Vu Port and Lach Huyen Port, the EMBA students gained valuable insights into the digitalization of port operations, environmental management systems, and green transformation technologies being implemented under VIMC’s sustainable strategy. The visit provided an opportunity for students to connect modern management knowledge with real-world practices in the digital economy, enhancing their strategic thinking in executive management, green transformation, and leadership within the logistics industry amid global competition and integration.

Following the field trip, the EMBA Class of Cohort 1 attended Practical Seminar 1 titled “Green Transformation at VIMC – Current Situation and Solutions”, presented by Dr. Le Quang Trung – Deputy General Director of VIMC and Vice President of VLA, a leading expert in maritime, logistics, and green transformation in Vietnam. Through this session, students engaged directly with practical issues related to the green transformation process in the logistics sector, including:

  • Overview of VIMC – Moving toward a green future based on digital foundations;

  • Digital transformation and green transition at VIMC – a sustainable strategy for integrated logistics development;

  • Practical applications and lessons learned from VIMC’s port system.

This first practical seminar not only helped EMBA students clearly understand the trend of green development in logistics but also enhanced their digital management mindset and executive thinking in connection with green and digital transformation in the era of global integration. It also reflected Thuongmai University’s educational philosophy and core values – “Tradition – Responsibility – Creativity” – where theory is closely linked with practice, and knowledge goes hand in hand with responsibility to the community and society.
