Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding and Direct Admission Agreement for Postgraduate Programmes with Singapore Management University (SMU)

Attending the ceremony, representing Thuongmai University, were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang – President of Thuongmai University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Van Su – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Nhan – Head of the Department of Research Administration and External Relations; and Dr. Dinh Thi Phuong Anh – Deputy Head of the Department of Research Administration and External Relations.

From Singapore Management University, the event was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Themin Suwardy – Associate Provost; Mr. Vu Viet Anh – Head of the SMU Representative Office in Vietnam; and Ms. Truong Huyen Trang – Senior Manager, SMU Representative Office in Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang – Rector of Thuongmai University, affirmed: “This Memorandum of Understanding commits our two universities to cooperating closely towards common goals, with the relationship centered on equality, mutual respect, and trust based on mutual benefit. The similarity in core values between the two institutions – specifically the focus on training quality, innovation, and responsiveness to market demands – constitutes the most solid foundation for a long-term and effective partnership.”

Following these sentiments, Assoc. Prof. Themin Suwardy – Associate Provost of Singapore Management University, expressed: “SMU brings to this partnership not only academic capabilities but also a long-term commitment. We believe that the relationship between Singapore Management University and Thuongmai University will extend far beyond the scope of an MOU or a Direct Admission Agreement for Postgraduate Programmes. It will be an enduring journey of shared development, built on trust, respect, and a shared vision for educational quality and the development of future generations.”

Within the framework of the ceremony, both parties engaged in positive discussions regarding opportunities for cooperation in training, student exchange, and future research collaboration. The Signing Ceremony concluded successfully. Thuongmai University believes that through the efforts and commitments made, both institutions will achieve significant accomplishments, continuing to develop a sustainable and substantive friendship and partnership, thereby creating positive impacts for students, faculty, and the academic communities of both nations.
